BBQ WHOLE SALMON

BBQ Salmon
Ingredients
  • 1 whole salmon (8-12 pounds)
  • 2 lemons sliced
  • 1 bunch of fresh herbs*
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper

There’s nothing like a perfectly cooked, moist, flaky salmon straight off the BBQ.

This recipe is the perfect thing to cook when you’re entertaining guests; if you season the fish ahead of time, it’s ridiculously easy to just throw it on the BBQ once people arrive. Flip once 25 minutes later, and you’re ready to eat.

Directions

Preheat BBQ to 300 degrees F

To prepare the salmon, wash the salmon inside and out and pat dry with paper towel. Season the inside of the salmon with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil. Place sliced lemons and herbs on the inside of the salmon. Wrap the salmon in tin foil or use a fish basket.

Place the whole salmon on the BBQ and close the lid. After 25 minutes, flip the salmon and cook on the other side. Continue to cook for another 15-20 minutes. Check salmon with a thermometer and take off the grill between 120 degrees(rare) and 130 degrees(medium rare). Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

*I like to use a mix of parsley, tarragon
