Grilled Moonfish Steaks

Ingredients

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 Moonfish fillets (10–12oz)

  • Salt & pepper

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp dried herbs (thyme, oregano, or parsley)

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Why we #EffingLove it: Moonfish is a lean, firm white fish with a subtle, sweet flavour that’s fun to experiment with. Its texture holds up in a variety of dishes, making it perfect for cooks eager to step out of their seafood comfort zone.

Tip: Moonfish is lean, so keep an eye on the heat — high and fast will give a nice sear without drying out the fillet.

Directions

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your BBQ or grill to medium-high. Oil the grates lightly to prevent sticking.

  2. Pat fillets dry and brush both sides with olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and herbs.

  3. Place fillets on the grill and cook 3–4 min per side, depending on thickness, until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

  4. Remove carefully with a wide spatula and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

  5. Optional: serve alongside grilled veggies, corn on the cob, or a fresh salad.
