Lakeside Farmstead WagyuX Mince is perfect for smash burgers. High fat, rich flavour, and the kind of beef that turns a simple burger into something you think about the next day.

This recipe keeps it simple and lets the quality do the talking. Crispy edges, juicy centres, melty cheese, and all your favourite Effing toppings stacked just right.

Grab your cast iron, don’t overthink it, and get ready to make the kind of smash burger that ruins takeout for a while.

Directions

Directions

1. Prep the beef

  • Divide into 4 loose balls (about 4 oz each)

  • Do NOT pack them tight — loose = better crust

2. Heat your surface

  • Cast iron pan or flat top

  • Get it ripping hot (this is where magic lives)

3. Smash time

  • Place ball on pan

  • Smash hard with a spatula (use parchment if needed)

  • Go thin… like “almost too thin” thin

  • Season immediately with salt, pepper, and a pinch of Effing Spice Blend

4. Build the crust

  • Cook 1.5–2 minutes (don’t touch it!)

  • Flip once — admire the crispy edges

  • Add cheese right away

5. Toast the buns

  • Butter + toast on the same surface

  • Let them soak up the beefy goodness

6. Assemble

  • Sauce on both sides

  • Patty (or double it… you should double it)

  • Bacon, pickles, onion, lettuce

  • Top bun → gentle press → done

Pro Tips

  • Double patties > single every time

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan

  • First smash is the only smash — no second chances

  • Paper towels ready… this is a juicy situation
